Teens on the Road to Safety

Teach your new driver how to be safer with our Drive Safe and Cash In program.

With “Drive Safe and Cash In,” teens who qualify receive $50 prepaid cards* for their first and second years of the program. Teenagers can earn rewards by driving safely and not having accidents, claims or violations. They also learn about safe driving habits such as buckling up and not drinking and driving.

Enrollment is open to licensed teens ages 16 and 17. They also must be auto policyholders with MetLife Auto & Home or insured on a parent’s or guardian’s MetLife Auto & Home policy at the time of enrollment and the time of award redemption.

To enroll or learn more, call 1-800-422-4272. If the teen, parent or guardian is a MetGroupSM customer and receives insurance through a program offered by their employer, call 1-800-GET-MET-1.

After enrolling, print out the enrollment materials. Complete the “Sunday Drive” requirements, during which the teen must take one 30-minute drive a week with a parent or guardian in the passenger seat for 20 weeks. Once they have completed the Sunday Drives, send in the completed log indicating the date, destination and mileage for each trip. If the teen driver remains claim- and incident-free for one year after enrollment, we send them a $50 American Express reward card as congratulations for beginning a lifetime of safer driving.

*The teen driver will receive the $50 American Express reward card within 60 days of the anniversary of enrollment, provided that he or she was claim- and incident-free for that 12-month period. The teen’s enrollment anniversary is the same date as the next auto policy renewal with MetLife Auto & Home following our receipt of a completed enrollment agreement. (The renewal date is listed on your insurance policy.) For example, if we receive your enrollment agreement in June and your policy renews August 1 then August 1 is your enrollment date.
