question of your own!
When do I add my daughter who's learning to drive to our auto policy?
On a long trip with friends, whose insurance covers those driving?
Do you have a question?
We'd like to hear from you!
[A] Although raising a teen may cost you dearly, this is one situation where you get a break. You don't need to add a young driver with a temporary permit to your MetLife Auto & Home auto policy. You can wait until your new driver gets her permanent license. (Certain states are exceptions, including Kansas, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.) Your teen will be covered by your policy if she accidentally takes out a mailbox while learning to drive, but you won't pay any additional premium until she's licensed.
[A] If you have an accident in your car, your MetLife Auto & Home auto policy will provide coverage, whether you're driving or your friend is (with your permission). But you're smart to only let trusted, safe drivers take the wheel of your vehicle because any accident has the potential to impact your insurance rates. See your policy for restrictions.
